We are approaching and will be celebrating our second anniversary of living in our new assisted living community here at Jacob’s Village. Since our five charter residents moved in October of 2004, we have welcomed one new resident with open arms and anticipating several more in the near future. Everyone is keeping busy with their daily responsibilities while finding more activities to fit in. One event that we all look forward to after a hard days’ work is checking our mailbox. Some days are better than others; but receiving a card or a letter in the mail can make the difference between a good or bad day. Many people have often asked, “How can I help out Jacob’s Village?” A simple, but very big way to help is to make all residents be a part of a relationship. Show them that they are of interest and cared for by having some type of correspondence with them by sending a letter, note or even a birthday card. Everyone likes to get good news in the mail; we are no different. This is just one example of how someone can help out and put a smile on another’s face.
