Posey County Community Foundation Grant

In New Harmony at 6:00pm, Wednesday, June 07, 2006 The Posey County Community Foundation (PCCF) held their awards presentation dinner at the New Harmony Inn and Conference Center. The PCCF, a fund of the Community Foundation Alliance Inc., has been serving donors since 1992 and has grown to include 58 endowment funds, which address a variety of needs in Posey County. The support for these organizations is made possible by endowed funds created by donors who have given the responsibility of determining who receives these grants to the PCCF’s Grants and Distribution Committee. The PCCF board of trustees awarded grants to 16 nonprofit organizations. These grants for the most part stay in Posey County, although, when there is a direct link to the PCCF from an out of county project involving a great service to community, they do accommodate. Such was the case with Jacob’s Village in Vanderburgh County. Jacob’s Village received a grant to assist in providing accessibility improvements to the recreational courtyard and homes. The grant will include the purchase and installation of handrails and metal ramp plates. Cheryl Kuchna, Executive Director of Jacob’s Village, attended the awards presentation dinner. Following the dinner JV resident Scott Huck and home coordinator Joe Marino joined her for the grant presentation. A photo was taken by Jim Kohlmeyer, editor of The Posey County News, of Don Williams, chairman of the Grants and Distribution Committee and the evenings presenter of the awards, with Cheryl Kuchna and Scott Huck. Also receiving an award that night from Evansville was The Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra to assist in the sponsorship of the Evansville Philharmonic Youth Concert Series.
