Poseyville Christian Church

Sunday, June 11, 2006, Rev. Doris Beckerman of the Poseyville Christian Church visited Jacob’s Village at 5:30pm for an evening of worship and fellowship. The residents: Debbie, Donna Kay, Wanda, Mike, Michael, Scott, and the Home Coordinators Halleck, Carol, and Berry had just finished their evening meal in the women’s home when the Church guests arrived and they were welcomed inside. Accompanying Rev. Doris for this pastoral visit were John and Sharon Matsel with grandson Ryan Renfro, and Mary Jane Rumble. Introductions were made and Rev. Doris began with a story of how a person’s Attitude can dictate their outlook on life. She read a few scriptures pertaining to attitude and how life on Earth is a learning process in preparation upon entering Heaven. While on Earth, ones body is only a shell; making no relevance to how ones shell is filled. Jacob’s Village’s Doug Regin, Director of Operations and Scott Huck, resident-volunteer, gave a presentation of Jacob’s Village to the Poseyville Christian Church’s Women’s Club and Darlene Voegel earlier in the year that began our relationship. A good time was had by all this evening and the residents are looking forward to another time to be with Rev. Doris and the Poseyville Christian Church.
